Calling all carnivores... this class is for you. Come along to the Brewery, to meet our chef and our brewer, for a truly fun and unique afternoon.
These classes have been running for a year and in that time, we have had a 100% record of happy punters - we cannot speak highy enough of these events!
We started brewing again in Oct 2008, so the first part of the class is spent in the micro-brewery with our brewer Mark, checking out the vats, the brewing process and of course - tasting all of the beers. He'll chat to you about each of our four brand new beers and any seasonal brews he's currently working on, and nibbles will be served to help soak up the beer.
Then it's over to meet The Brewery's General Manager and Chef, Greg Farnan. He's travelled Australia & the globe to source the best meat & steaks, and he'll talk to you about his research 'from paddock to plate'.
He'll show you his various cuts of meat and talk about what makes a great steak and more importantly, how to cook one, including the legendary 'Tomahawk Steak' - the (1.4 - 2.7kg) rib eye with its monstrous 30cm bone. This steak has gained a reputation since its launch in early 2009 - and in fact, it was chef Greg that named and launched the original Tomahawk Steak, here at the Brewery. You'll also get to sample the various cuts of meat at the end of the class.
Please note that Greg often travels throughout the year, and may not be able to host the beef part of the class. In which case, his talented, carnivorous team will take you through it.
This 'class' is more of a cooking demo, rather than a hands-on class. Greg will share a taste of the meat he cooks - and you'll be able to see exactly where and how he works, with beer flowing throughout the afternoon. It is seriously great value for only $85.
A superb afternoon for the blokes - though ladies thoroughly enjoy these events. They make a great gift too.

We can tailor the class to meet your needs... perhaps you would like a sit-down dinner at the end of the class where your guests can sit back, relax and taste the meat that Greg has been talking about the whole class, along with a selection of his gorgeous side dishes. The format is loose and we are open to suggestions and can design a class that will best suit you group.
Minimum numbers required for the class is 12. Maximum numbers don't really apply; we can cater for up to 100 guests (room hire and AV equipment fees will apply to large groups). Though the usual class that fits nicely in the restaurant that doesn't incur any room hire fee is around 20 guests, max.
